I've inherited 6 crescent-shaped dishes with the marking on the back which says Royal Ironstone China A.J. Wilkinson England. The dishes have a flat rose shape with rose leaves in wheat color underneath the flat rose which is rose red in color and the dish is edged in gold. Does anyone know anything about these? The word LTD is not on the back.

Hi RobbieAnn,
A. J. Wilkinson was founded in 1882 and became a Ltd. company in 1896; therefore, your dishes were made sometime during that period. Crescent-shaped dishes were sometimes used as bone dishes and other larger ones were for crescent salads. Without a photo, we can't give you any more information.
