I hope this works.Last week in Seattle I bought this tureen? plate having recognized the face looking out. I looked up fishermen in the data base and it's not there so I started looking in books and on Page 130 of Mary Frank Gaston's English China book is "Ealing Scene" unmarked and on page 144 two identical plates, one marked E. Walley "Wild Rose".I looked up Walley in the database and it's not in there. If this picture is any good and you want to put it in feel free to.

The pattern is known as Wild Rose and depicts Nuneham Courtenay in Oxfordshire, England. It was a popular pattern made by many different makers and is often found unmarked. Presume your piece has no backstamp? There are a couple of examples in the database under the pattern name Wild Rose. The editors may wish to add your brown example, so thanks for the image. You will not find this pattern under fishermen, because they are actually punting on the river either for pleasure or ferrying people across. They have punt poles not fishing rods. Sorry to be pedantic! Regards Andrew
