Missing lids for sugar bowls & teapot. Do replacements exist? Posted by Susan on September 4, 2010, 1:29 pm I have two sugar bowls in brown and white transferware: 1) Giraffe*, John Ridgway, c1836 and 2)Unidentified chinoiserie pearlware, with three children playing musical instruments under a parasol with bird flying above, applied handles. I also have a brown and white teapot 3)Japonica*, John Ridgway c1835-45. Does anyone have a suggestion or two on how I can find the 3 matching lids? Do replacements exist?" 76.200.100.183 Susan, many of our dealer members have been accumulating for years and decades. Some may keep the odd lid or two, or more. I suggest you contact each one through his/her website (follow link from the TCC home page to Dealers/Auctions). Also, if you are a member, you may place a free classified ad on the website. David, I'm planning on attending the Annual Meeting in October. Do you think any dealers will be bringing lids with them? Or is this too esoteric? Thanks, Susan

Do replacements exist?" 24.63.132.75 Hi, as one of the 'dealer members', I think David is correct: those of us planning to set-up at the meeting most likely will not bring lids -- too problematic a sale to make packing worthwhile. I only have a couple of blue lid, but I am sure several of the other members have box fulls so be sure to ask all of them and you might get lucky! Especially since they are easy to ship. But I will warn you that just finding a lid is only part of the battle -- color should match and almost more importantly, you have to check them to make sure they will fit. Pieces can vary in size and 'shape' ever so slightly, etc. etc. Good Luck! Michael
