Rural Scene Posted by David Scriven on June 13, 2009, 3:53 pm 82.69.78.15 The pattern on this 10 inch plate is baffling me. I have not been able to find it recorded anywhere, neither the central view nor the border. If anyone can help by identifying the view, the name by which the pattern is known or the maker I should be very grateful. The plate is not marked, it has a double footrim and three sets of triangular stilt marks on the under side of the rim. If I should fail to attach a photograph I will send it separately via the webmaster.  Post a Response

It has the same floral border, the same double foot rims, same lighter center, same feathery leaves around the rim, a couple in the foreground with a view of a town and a cathedral in the background. It has "S.Tams&co Warranted Staffordshire" impressed in a circle. Also "Semi China" inside the circle and an impressed eagle. I will send a picture when and if my camera starts working again. It notes that there are two borders in the Tams miscellaneous views Series. This border is "Foliage with grotto center".  Post a Response
