'Arab Font' pink transfer pattern Posted by David Beaton on June 9, 2009, 6:02 pm 91.125.115.5 The above pattern appears on a set of three jugs, showing a horseman and camel rider watering their animals at a gushing fountain, oriental scenery and buildings in the background. The words 'Arab Font' surrounded by a foliate cartouche appear on the base of each jug. I would welcome any help in identifying other examples of this pattern and in attributing it to a British maker. I am sending an image to the webmaster and she will post it within 48 hours.  Post a Response

A horse and some camels drink at a Moorish font or fountain while their riders wait. This has the look of perhaps being based on an actual view, but no reference to the pattern has yet been located". It appears you are not a TCC member. As you seem to be an interested transferware collector, perhaps you would consider joining the TCC, easily accomplished through the web site.  Post a Response

Pity that it does not lead immediately to an attribution but at least I now know of one other example of Arab Font. Transfer ware is not my speciality. I have the jugs as examples of non stoneware products of the so-called Chrysanthemum Factory. TCC membership is not planned at present! David Beaton  Post a Response
