I am new to this website.. and collecting china itself. I found a piece that i have just fallen for... The mark says Wood and Son.. with the name of the pattern as, "Florence" I am eager to find out anything about this... the pieces, the company, anything... could you give me any help .... thanks jim  Post a Response

Historical" 67.173.210.244 Ted, Are you only interested in dark blue or would the off colors do? If so I have an openwork basket and undertray in the "Shipping Port on the Ohio, Kentucky" from Celtic China. A long time ago I purchased two Washington Scroll in Hand footed egg cups from Nathan Liverant and sold one to David Arman at the Hartford Antiques Show about two weeks later. A third one appeared in an ad for an auction in Burlington, VT about two weeks later so I'm sure there are at least three. I do have a footed egg cup of the same dimensions in Four Men in a Boat from Shell Border Irregular Center but I have no idea how many others are out there.  Post a Response

Historical" 161.185.151.98 Rich- You have given me extraordinarily helpful information with details on the growing census of footed egg cups. Many, many thanks! This is one of the great things about our Community Message Board. Re "off" colors: I shutter to think what some of our collector friends may be thinking, but I will limit my research to the dark blue wares with American views, mainly because I could not begin to feign knowledge about the later, lighter-color wares.  Post a Response
