The soup plate is at http://www.seekersantiques.com/items/item.html?o=tr&x=92&i=TCC99 My take on the backstamp is that it is JB, which would offer more candidates. The most likely being James Beech of Tunstall active 1834 to 1845 and coincidentally previously in partnership with Abraham Lowndes as Lowndes and Beech. Export to the USA was a major part of his business and he is best known for Texian Campaigne. However, the quality of Fan Border looks good, which suggests it may not be James Beech. Never seen the pattern before and cannot be sure of the backstamp or suggested attribution, but hopefully this will give others something to chew at. Regards Andrew
