I have two very large (20 inches in diameter) blue and white wall plates. They are marked Delft and and Royal Bonn and have several handwritten numbers on them. One shows a portrait of George Washington and the other shows Lafeyette. I cannot seem to find any web sites devoted to Delft or Royal Bonn and was hopping some one here coud help me out in terms of some history of these plates. Any help would be greatly appreciated. While these pieces are outside of the scope of this website, I can tell you that Royal Bonn was established in Bonn, Germany by Franz Anton Mehlem and was in existence 1836-1931. Evidently their 'Delft' line was produced 1890-1920. If you search for "Royal Bonn Delft" on Google you'll get a number of hits. Their portrait chargers (which is what you have) look to be very high quality! Len

HI Tom: thanks for your posting. The reference to Delft pretty much indicates that the pieces are not transferware, and thus properly should not not be on our web site, but the Washington and Lafayette connection is intriguing, so lets see if anyone out there can help.
