Yesterday I bought two modern Spode blue and white transferware mugs, (seconds of course). The label read,"Made in China". What sad times for the English ceramics industry.

I am really glad that the club had a chance to tour the Spode Factory with Robert Copeland before it closed. Our Annual Meeting in Staffordshire in 2003 was a wonderful experience, and I am so looking forward to our return to England in 2009.
