Here is the second plate.
It is by John Meir & Son, England c. 1870
This is a brown Rhine plate recorded in the database as #12264. It has the same mark on the back and is in brown (although the color appears darker than on this plate).
What is super interesting to me is that the central design is different. It lacks the moon, has a less detailed bridge and the boats are not the same, etc. So this appears to be a new J. Meir variation on the pattern.
I saw that the TCC Bulletin Vol. XIV No.1, 2013, pp. 12-15 has an article with information, photos and a Table of Rhine Patterns. I read that but this Meir variation of the "D" variation is not mentioned.
Measurements are 7 1/4 diameter.
