I have just sent a version of this to HISTARCH:
Hello All,
I have, at the San Diego Presidio, fragments of a transferware children's plate called A Reward for Diligence (to view it see Transferware Collectors Club TCC#5927).
It shares a molded and enameled rim pattern with other nurserywares made by Enoch Wood and Sons (i.e. Turkey TCC#10762) which was specifically used for the American market.
Because TCC has not seen marked A Reward for Diligence items with the Enoch Wood and Sons marks, currently TCC lists A Reward for Diligence as Maker Unknown.
Also, I have, in my personal collection, 2 plates with the Turkey pattern. My Turkey plates have mark TCC#60506 on PEARLWARE and mark TCC#47688 on CREAMWARE.
Has anyone found or know of any A Reward for Diligence nurseryware plate with the molded and enameled rim WITH an Enoch Wood and Sons mark?
Thank you all so much,
Susan D. Walter
