I'm trying to ID some sherds of a red transferware London style bowl recovered at an archaeological site in Michigan. An image of the sherds is at https://www.flickr.com/photos/94374719@N08/16587589348/ The closest match that I've been able to make is "Andalusia" by William Adams. The central figure, a man on a horse, as well as the rim pattern match very well with one of the images in the "Andalusia" series, particularly sample #01 in the TCC database. However, the repeating pattern around the central figure is different. This repeating pattern also appears on the exterior of the bowl at the top of the rim (sherd at top left) and doesn't appear on another holloware form #10 in the TCC db. I had the sherds in hand last week and confirmed that they are from a single vessel. Any thoughts on the pattern? Is it a variation in the "Andalusia" series or another pattern entirely potentially by another manufacturer? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim Bennett
