Hi Andrea. You're right, this is the Peruvian Horse Hunt pattern. We have nine examples in the database with different central scenes, but not this one I don't think. I love how the gaucho is shown falling off his horse! As for the overall brown color this is probably due to discoloration, rather than having been made that way. Sugar in those days was coarse and brown and stored in lumps in the sugar bowls, and tended to "mellow" the earthenware body particularly if it had crazing. As we don't seem to have this version of the pattern would you allow us to use it in the database? Thank you - hope this helped.
