The L. P. & Co. initials stand for Livesley Powell & Co., 1851-66. "Marble" is the name of the sheet pattern produced to look like marble. We have some plates by that maker in the database, and they are all 10-sided ironstone. "Staffordshire II" by Petra Williams and Marguerite Weber show a different sheet pattern on p. 28 that features hawthorn blossoms. It shows a mark just like the one on the back of your plate but the pattern name "Hawthorn" replaces "Marble" on your plate.
