I wonder if anybody can help identify this object. Two images are at
http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/2106257175.
It was found underwater, off the east coast of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands (in the English Channel). It looks at first sight like a bowl, but the design - apparently in a brown transfer print - appears to be on the underside. I wondered if it might actually be a lid, but there are no obvious handles. I think it is about 9 inches (23cm) in diameter, but I have only seen the picture and not the object itself. Any suggestions as to its origins would be gratefully received!
Thanks,
Phil
