Thank you so much, Connie. This is my first post and I'm so happy you sent an answer right away. I had emailed Judie Sidall and she suggested that I post the question. She and I both think that Japan used decals, so it's "kind of" unanimous.
I'm giving a talk on transfer ware...I collect purple...to my antiques group, Vintage Ladies of Williamsburg (VA) and I thought it might be cute to set up a tea party on the bar with the Willow Tea Set. I bought the original pieces for $2 in the 1970's and then added a few serving pieces. Thanks again, Betsy
