Oh and in terms of inter-library loans, that unfortunately isn't an option here. We are the only university that specialises in archaeology and even the Ceramics Society of the Philippines doesn't have one book that covers this period. Ceramic analysis is extremely difficult without a reference collection.
Janice, perhaps you can expand on your statement that you believe some pieces are earlier than the late 19th and early 20th century? Also, I am trying to research how many English companies actually had factories in Canton during this period - to see whether these pieces were made in England or whether they are made by English companies in their Canton factories.
