Strange to say, the platter with this pattern is on the COVER of "Romantic Staffordshire Ceramics" by J.B. Snyder. Strange, because I can not find the plate, pattern or potter (maybe Clews?) identified anywhere in his book. (am I missing a page? did I over look it?) Usually an early book page will identify/describe cover material, but I find no such page. Perhaps Jeffrey B. Snyder ALSO didn't know the answer?
