Hello, Everyone- As some of you may know, next month there will be a workshop in Eastfield Village, New York entitled “OUT OF THE WOODS: A Staffordshire Family of Potters & Its Influence on 18th & 19th-century British Pottery.” Among the nine lectures scheduled on the Woods --Aaron, Ralph, John, Enoch among them -- will be one presented by me, on Enoch and Sons’ output of American views on transfer-printed earthenwares.
Now is the time to put on your Wood caps: Are there issues/concerns/questions about these dark blue wares circa 1825 that have nettled you?
Give me your tired, your poor, your Old Blue mysteries yearning to see light, and I will try to uncover answers.
