Andrew - I think these "Cattle Scenery" pieces can actually be traced back a bit further. They were introduced by Riley and were dubbed the Union Border series some years ago (Dictionary 2 I think). The copper plates must have been bought by Meir when Rileys closed down in 1828 and I suspect most pieces are by Meir although a few are known impressed Riley. I do have a blue soup plate with Meir's impressed crown, but not with any title or actual maker's name. The plates must have subsequently been acquired by Adams when they took over the Meir firm but I think they must have re-engraved them for the later pieces. Dick
