Hi Len, that is very interesting. I had thought that the picture on the saucers had a rather Eastern European/Russian look? I haven't much reference material on Continental pottery but I have just had a glance through the 'European Creamware' book and there is pictured a plate (different pattern of course) which appears to have a very similar colour and general appearance, and is Russian c1844-54 (plate 171).
Interesting stuff - I daresay we will never know for sure!
