Hi Mollie,
The two platters that I mentioned that are pictured in the database were entered by Colin Parkes, our editor for British Themes who has a personal collection of at least 700 different patterns. I assume that the two platters belong to him. The photos are of actual pieces or they wouldn't be in the database.
