The name "Fan Border" is the title of the pattern and the initials LB would normally relate to the maker. I can't find any obvious match for just LB and although it might be Lowndes & Beech, I would expect their mark to include the ampersand. I suspect your date of 1812 is rather too early. The use of pattern names like "Fan Border" suggests a later period, certainly not much before 1825 and probably into the 1830s or later. I don't have any record of the name "Fan Border" in my database, but it might even be into the aesthetic period of the 1870s. It would really be helpful to see an image. Dick Henrywood
