My transferware collection consists only of 1 solitary item - a large meat platter which was handed down to me by relatives. I would like to know more about the maker and the pattern if possible. The backstamp says "LB" and "Fan Border". An accompanying letter says that the platter was one of three used at a wedding in 1812. The design features a central vase with flowers and a wide scalloped border. It is polychrome, but predominantly brown. Could it be Lowndes and Beech?
By searching the web I recently found a picture of a soup bowl with the same design - it was being offered for sale. Unfortunately the page has since disappeared, so I can't provide a URL link for the image in this message. However I could send a picture via email if that would help.
Regards, Jenny.
