Image uploading

Is there a way to easily upload an image to the message board from files on my computer? It seems cumbersome to have to send the image to a URL, or to the Administrator and wait a few days. The TCC database permits uploading images by "browsing" my files....it is easy, but apparently the website does not permit that. Why?
