Services Monday
Dr. Joseph B Tormey, who practiced dentistry in Jacksonville for 50 years, died early Saturday morning at Passavant hospital. He had been a patient since October 7th. Dr. Tormey had been making his home at No. 12 Dunlap Court.
He was born in Wauwatosa, Wis. May 7, 1874, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tormey.
He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Nancy Tormey Thorson of New Berlin; a grandson, John Thorson; and a granddaughter, Nancy Jo Leo of Wheaton.
Two sisters survive: Mrs. Jenny Binger of Milwaukee, Wis. and Mrs. Anna O'Brien of San Diego, Calif.
His wife, the former Nancy Connley died in 1943. A daughter, Mrs. Mary Leo, died in 1949.
Dr. Tormey was active for many years in various phases of music in Jacksonville and was a member of Jeffries Band.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Williamson Funeral Home with Dr. Frank Marston officiating. Interment will be in Jacksonville East cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
