Joseph and Edward left for America first. Joseph changed the name to Toomey and as did the rest of the family after they left Ireland and came to the states. I do believe one went to AUS. I have record where they show both names in a baptism in Dublin. (Toomey/Tormey)
I believe the family may have been originally from Longford, Granard or Limerick… My great great great grandfather's business on Aran Quay was named Longford and Granard Hay Factors. I am still working on it. Some stayed and lived in North Dublin as Tormey. They lived in Crumlin, south of Dublin prior to their departure for the States, where they eventually moved to Chicago.
