Another potential source for NY state newspapers only - FREE - is http://www.fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html.
Some Tips.
1.) On the left side enter name and exact phrase
2.) When selecting a paper it will be a PDF of that page
3.) This of course is a lot of text.
4.) Use the search this page function to locate the name searching
