Re: Towns Tormey and Selby
Just happened onto this site. I lived in Tormey from 1946 to 1967. The family moved away just before my senior year of high school. I attended the Tormey School from first to sixth grades. The school had two classrooms - 1st to 3rd in one room and 4th to 6th in the other. There was another large lunch / rainy day recess room plus an auditorium with a stage. The two teachers were organized with one of them serving as principal as well as teaching. The educational experience was very good as many of those who transferred to the Carquinez Grammar school then to John Swett High School later went on to college and beyond. I recall the entire Tormey experience to have been very special.
