Your post caught my eye. I have pictures of the statue you refer to. Growing up, my father, Thomas Aloysius Tormey (American) always referred to the Statue to the Tormey Brothers. We all thought it was just a legend until one day as my family and I were driving through Moate, Westmeath, on vacation, I saw the statue. Actually there were two statues. One in a field just west of Moate dedicated to James Tormey and one in the town dedicated to the Tormey Brothers. I am not the best photographer but if you would like a picture of the statue I will gladly send it to you.
I think I have a picture of the other statue (the one to James Tormey in the field) somewhere but have to locate it.
