Sonya - I am replying to you on the message board to indicate to others that there are indeed responses, and that perhaps the information shared might be of help to some other Tormey researcher. If we all communicate directly to the sender and not to the board, no one else will ever know that queries are often answered to the benefit of all
The mother of the children I listed was Anne Brady. There were several Tormay & variant families whose children were born around the same time as Patrick and Anne's, and, to my way of thinking they are probably all related. They are:
Patrick Tormay, carpenter, and Mary Connor of Fanch St. Kells, with children Bridget, Edward and Thomas.
Stephen Tormay, laborer, and Mary Flanagan of Bective St Kells, with children Bridget, Ellen, James and Mathew.
John Tormey, coachmaker, and Bridget Flood, of Fanch/Farrel St Kells, with children Mary Anne, Patrick, James, Eliza, John and William.
John Tormay, sawyer, and Julia White, of Farrell St. Kells, with children William, Julia, Patrick and James.
That is quite a family, and perhaps not every one left. I finally found members of my own Tormeys still living in Westmeath, and have happily been able to meet and correspond with them. May that be your good fortune as well. Marybeth
