Although I live in England, I was born in Dublin and some time ago I looked up the Tormey crest with the Office of the Chief Herald of Ireland and came up with a crest. It is a white Mullet (a type of 5 pointed star except the points are rounded) on a black background with the motto "Pro rege saepe, pro patria semper" (which translates from the Latin as "Often for the King, aways for the fatherland"). You shoud remember that a crest applies only to the person to whom it has been granted and may not be officially used by other members of the family. I shall delve a bit more in this website as I woud like to follow up on my family whoi emigrated to the USA round the turn of the 20th Century.
