The entire journey was made by water. They reached Buffalo by way of the Erie canal, going thence to Amherstburg on a Lake Erie schooner, and on arrival were numbered among the pioneers of that section. "

My husband's is the GGG Grandson of George and Kate (Green) Tormey of Galway, Ireland. The story from a Great Lakes shipping book states this. Is there any record of Edward Tormey from Galway around born around (I estimate) 1815-1835???
