Brian I do appreciate your input and I wish more people would take an active role in trying to get things worked out in TOPS.If the majority of people got involved we could reach a solution that would please the majority.I would now like to try to clear up a couple of things. It would not be the 4th from the tables that are moving on. It would be all winners and the remaining places would be filled with the people who have the lowest number of points on the leaderboard before the night of the tourney. So if you don't win the only way you would move on is if you are low on the leaderboard. Another thing i thought about on the first day of the month you would have to use the totals from the end of the previous month. Any ties of lowest points could be decided like we decide now for ties with a playoff. In my humble opinion anything that makes it simpler and less confusing (thereby eliminating squabbles over rules) than it is now for picking subs and people that advance is worth a shot.
: I disagree (respectfully of course). Just as
: people use the current method of playing for
: 2nd as a way to advance, if it were 4th
: place moving on instead, I can see someone
: throwing the game, getting the 1 point as a
: way to get 10 the next and move on. It
: makes for excellent semifinal games usually
: the way we do it now, but I would think
: semis made up of 2 1sts and 2 4ths at each
: table would cause a lopsided match.
:
: The current method is more fair. The way to
: make that better is to increase TOP
: membership so we have sixteen tables in the
: first round, winners only advance.

: I believe we should eliminate the way subs
: and
: wilds are done now. We all complain about
: the way this is done so lets make it simple
: so everybody understands. Only winners
: advance in the first round. The people
: needed to fill up 4 tables for the second
: round would be the lowest people on the
: leaderboard. This would solve several
: things. I think this would eliminate some of
: those people who play for second just to
: advance. It could also possibly keep the
: scores closer on the leaderboard since the
: lower people would be getting more points.
: The reason for 4 tables in the second round
: would be so only winners advance to the
: finals. If a sub is needed in the middle of
: a game the lowest person on the leaderboard
: that is available would get the spot. KISS
