Dee, I've got one from the early 80's. It was my first muzzleloader and came as a kit. It's been through some rough times but keeps on shooting straight. Mine has a walnut stock. As Carl said, its a 1:66" twist and the lock is the weak link. After dealing with a couple of the weak CVA mainsprings I finally got one that looked close(I think it was from an L&R lock) and filed it to fit. Its had that spring in it for about 15 years and is still going strong. So I guess the weak link isn't really the lock, its the mainspring. Would make a great backup if you're getting it at the right price.
