I had one too, but couldn't get a shot. Next night watched a small bear from that stand, then he left and the wolf came back, but just passing through. Bear came back right at dark. I wound up climbing out of the tree and walking towards it with my headlight on him the whole time. Told him "you just wait right there, bear and you can have your donuts in a minute"
Saw a nice big bear the last night, but I was lookin to the left when he came in on the right. He stepped into the open, giving me a perfect shot, but I couldn't twist around without spooking him. He wound up just disappearing back into the woods, but I could feel his eyes on me as I walked out in the dark as well.
And you otta see it when the hair stands up on the back of MY neck!

That would probably scare ALL the bears away!
Brent took one smallish bear this season, but it was his first. Everyone has now taken at least one, so were all waiting on a big one now.
This season everyone had a chance to take at least one bear, just not thee bear. John had a large Cinnamon come in opening day, but it just wasn't meant to be.
I don't hunt to serious during camp, I just sorta take whatever sites are left. I was hoping to get more serious this week, but dang if all that life stuff isn't stealing away all my free time. If that changes I'll let you know.
Dave
BTW: Sounds like Axel might take me up on a standing offer next season. I am looking forward to it already.
Dave sed: "If that changes I'll let you know."
If that changes Dave, just let me know HOW
Axe - Hope to see you in September (or lose you to a summer love, oh wait, that was sumthin else...)
