On the program 'Extreme Marksmen" they made a statement that the flare of a blunderbuss would make a pattern spread faster than a shotgun. I heard somewhere that the flare only made it easier to load and not opened the pattern any faster. Have any of you blunderbuss shooters ever do any comparative experiments???? It would be interesting to take a blunderbuss of a certain gauge and a shotgun of the same gauge with equal wading and shot and compare.
