Welcome to the Hide. My preferred rifles for deer hunting are a T/C Renegade and a Uberti/Great Western Arms. Both are percussion and .54 caliber. I've used other calibers, but have always come back to the .54. It works.
Your rifle sounds like a fine piece. Do you hunt?
