Only one more day until the 4th Illinois turkey season comes in for seven days followed by the 5th and final season for eight days. I have a tag for each of these two seasons. The weather is supposed to be in the 40s in the morning and warming up to the mid-70s by quitting time at 1:00 p.m. I'll be shedding clothes as the sun gets higher in the sky. Since it's only 15 minutes to where I hunt, I'm hopefully going to roost some birds near where I heard a gobbler around 4:00 in the afternoon as I was mushroom hunting a few days ago. I quickly backed out of the woods since I figured he might be on his strutting zone. This same type of thing happened to me two weeks ago and I came back to where he had been gobbling at noon take a 22# gobbler on the second day of the 1st Illinois turkey season. That season opened with rain and snow. With the upcoming season's weather being so nice, I'm going to use my 20 gauge fusil.
Tom
