Carl, Have gone to a few nssa annual shoots and have seen taller sights installed on the enfields and springfields, gunsmiths grind the blade off and cut a slot in the base and install a brass blade, you will see lots of guns with sight protectors over there front sights to keep them from getting bent, they remove them for shooting of course. Genuine Parker hales are a much sought after gun in the nssa org. Get lots of info from there site if you care to visit it.
