I certainly won't be bending the barrel. LONG before considering that I'd have a very tall front site made up and fit it to the musket.

As it is I'm actually grouping, more or less but high and "sideways".

I did put this rifle aside a LONG time ago for exactly this reason. Time to figure it all out, I guess.
