I don't think so. On originals and guns made with single lever set triggers you had to set the triggers before cocking the lock. This is due to the absence of a fly and the trigger held the sear up so it did not catch 1/2 cock. Can you Cock the lock without the triggers in place? Can you set the triggers with the lock out? It sounds like the rear trigger bar is getting over the sear bar and not being allowed to engage the front trigger. With the triggers unset they should form an X where the sear bar is. I hope that is as clear as mud.
