I'm actually at the beginning of the LONG process of applying for dual American/Italian citizenship. If the economy here ever bounces to some reasonable level (like what it was before we ever heard of George Bush - when the euro was worth 85 cents) I may buy a little place in Sicily and another in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Live in Sicily in the colder months and maybe find a few wines to export to America. Nice dream.
BUT, I do not think the game plan is to save the dollar but rather to merge it with the Peso. No kidding. Be a good time for some gun manufacturer to open a facility in South America. Or Mexico, for that matter. Heck, they're mostly Italians in Argentina anyway.
