Doug, I used to shoot T/C Maxi's a lot. In fact I once had a T/C Hawken flinter that I couldn't shoot a prb straight if my life depended on it. I was about ready to give up on this gun when I found its favorite meal was 90gr of 2f and a big ole maxi ball on top. At 50 yds I could dern near shoot clover leaves. Never had any problem with migration as John suggested but I did get tired of the thumping I would take from the big conicals every time I pulled the trigger of those lightweight guns. The one that I liked the best, and I'm not sure if they are still available or not was a short version of the T/C maxi hunter probably in the 200gr area. These were sweet to load and very accurate in the 1:48. The violent thumping was minmized and they were more than enough medicine for any Whitetail that roamed central Ohio. Another option that you might try would be the ball-et. I think these are still available and I always wanted to try them but it never was convienient for me. Hope this helps a little.
