Fished from Whitmans bridge to below the conrail tubes. Never even saw a fish. The six other fisherman I talked with were having a similar day, although the two using spawn bags had a couple hits. Two guys said they fished upper elk Monday and caught a few holdovers that looked it (pretty beat up). The water was quite low with some color and for the most part ice free. However, the mouth is still frozen over pretty good. My guess is a combination of the low water and cold temps are preventing a good run of fresh fish. Its hard to get skunked at the Elk, especially with all that great TMF gear...Goes to show what a bad fishing winter we are having. Need warmer and higher water. If you must fish before those conditions are met: go up river where you can at least find some old ones.
