Posted by Dave Rinehart Drove back to the Elk and stopped into see Dan at Elk Creek Sport Shop. He said that there were reports of fish at the mouth of Walnut and the Elk. I guess Walnut was a real zoo with dozens and dozens of fishermen and a couple fish. I love PA. Drove down to the mouth of Elk on the East side and didn't find anyone on that side, but saw a few anglers on the East side. Drove over to the boat-launch and there were a dozen or so anglers. Seemed to be about that many fish in the stream too. Talked with one ole boy that had a canvas chair, a couple beers, and a spinning rod line in the water with Power-Bait down on the bottom. I doubted his story of having hooked a half dozen fish until I saw the stringer with five fish on it (yea, three were his fishing buddy's fish). There were fly guys up at the first log jam, and the good ole boys said they had landed a few up there. So, the news is that THE SEASON HAS STARTED!

I drove over to PA on Sunday morning. Drove over to scout out 7-mile creek and found nothing in the creek except a couple of trees. Then drove over to 9-Mile and found nothing.
