My brother, a friend and I started at the Rocky this morning. We had not been informed of the fishing tournament going on and I have never seen more guys at the river on a January day! Unfortunately, despite the large number of fisherman, I only saw two fish caught the three hours we were there (none by us). Water had good flow but a bit off color, probably better/good Monday and for sure Tuesday...Left and went to the Vermilion. Flow was perfect but color was terrible! Fished 1/2 an hour just becasue we were there. Needless to say...with no success. My guess is Tuesday for the V. Obvioulsy the steelhead are still keeping with their schedule and are not very interested in starting an early spring run just because I wanted them to! Ed
