Posted by Dave Rinehart So off to the Elk we went! Stopped a Folly's and were told that there were not many fish behind the shop, they thought they moved up the creek, so we went up to Platz Road and fished downstream. Lots of fishermen and not much water! If everyone had gotten out of the water the level would have dropped a couple inches. We ended up way down steam and found a few fish. Charlie had a new rod that might have worked nicely if there had been water in the creek, but with the flow so low it was way too stiff (I have yet to get him to buy a John Nagy type rod). Anyway on the way back upsteam at dusk we ran into a dozen or more fish that either moved up or drifted back into the fast water. I think Charlie must have hooked and landed half of them! Don't see much in the forcast to make the steams come up in PA. This weekend it looks like Ohio is the place to fish.

Charles Harker talked me into going fishing on Sunday, so we headed out for Conneaut and found the river to be of nice flow and color. Phil Hilman had told Frank earlier in the week that there were fish in the creek, so we were hopeful. We went to Mike's Secret Spot and found only one angler, he had no luck and we didn't either, so we went down stream a half mile and ran into a gagle of anglers, some with a guide. So much for secret spots! Anyway, we fished and they fished and after an hour of NO ONE catching a fish we deceided that half way up was tooo high. If there are still fish in the river they aren't up very high in the creek.
