I was in Erie on Sunday which gave me an opportunity to stop and check out the streams. Both Elk and Connneaut were much lower and much clearer than I thought they would have been given the rains. Also the number of cars in the parking lot (4) usually doesn't lie. From what one guy told me, there are obviously steelhead in the streams if you can find them (he caught 2), but the low and clear conditions make fishing tough (if not flat out unrewarding). If you are not desperate to fish, I'd wait for some more rain.
