We will remember...

We first met Tim, Candy, Shawn, TJ and Kristen at a MA7.90 race in Temple in '97 or'98. As we were headed up to run them in round 1, the kids who were in the back of their pick up were trash talking at us; "where'd you get that piece of junk?" "We are gonna kick your butt." Tim looked around from the cab, got out and gave them a quick lesson about racing courtesy. He was a racer, but a father first, even though he was probably thinking he WOULD kick our butt! (he did). We saw a lot of them over the next dozen years, seeing the kids grow up in to the fine young folks they have become. Along the way, Tim helped us at the races many times, even when it meant risking his chance to make the show. We always looked forward to seeing Tim, Candy, and most often Shawn. When our own son Daniel was working away from home Tim and Candy had him over at their place and treated him like family. Tim had that rare quality; he made you feel like you were his best friend. In Eddyville this year he talked about how they hadn't been out much because he was doing a lot of travelling for work. Taking care of his family was the priority. We are still stunned and so sorrow filled that Tim is gone from us. Our deepest sympathy is with Candy, Shawn, TJ and Kristen. We know what Tim brought to us, but can only begin to undersand the loss to his family. We will remember Tim very fondly and sincerely hope to maintain in friendship and fellowship with Candy and the Hay family. With love and heartfelt prayers for healing from this awful grief, Tom and Phyllis
